Faux Leather Sheets: Types We Sell

Welcome to the world of crafts, where the options are copious.

As most faux leather crafters are aware, there are many different types of faux leather being used in the crafting universe right now. The four types of faux leather we carry at this time are: Original, Classic, Ultra Smooth, and Textured. All of these faux leather sheets will work with Sizzix and Cricut machines, and are easy to hand cut as well.

Let's start off discussing our Original Faux Leather sheets. These sheets are currently the most commonly used type of faux leather material we sell. The printed side of the sheet has a look and feel/texture that is rather canvas-like. They are a more "stiff" material, backed with a combination of cotton & felt, ranging from a white to ivory colored exposed backing. Original Faux Leather sheets are commonly used to make earrings, quarter keepers, lip balm holders, and some bows. We love Original Faux Leather sheets for the versatility of projects they can be used for, as well as the affordability. We do not recommend these sheets for "Pinch Style" bows, as they do tend to crease around tight pinches.

The next faux leather type we carry are Classic Faux Leather sheets. These sheets are great for detailed printed sheets, as they display ink more clearly than Original Faux Leather sheets. The printed side of the sheet has a smoother, minimally textured surface. These sheets are not as "stiff" as the Original Faux Leather sheets. The backings on these sheets can be any mixture of felt, cotton, or polyester fabric. Classic Faux Leather sheets are great to use to craft earrings, bows, quarter keepers, and lip balm holders.

The third type of faux leather we carry are Ultra Smooth Faux Leather sheets. These sheets have the same characteristics as our Classic Faux Leather sheets, except they are completely smooth, without any texture on the surface. Backings on these sheets can be any mixture of felt, cotton, or polyester.

The last type of faux leather we carry are Textured Faux Leather sheets. These sheets are the most "traditional" looking and feeling faux leather sheets we carry. The backings on these sheets can be a mixture of felt, cotton, or polyester fabric. Textured Faux Leather sheets are great to craft a variety of projects. Stiffness of these sheets ranges from very stiff to a bit floppy. Typically, the thicker the sheet, the stiffer it will be. See product information for sheet thickness.
